After a face lift, your face will be bandaged, and you may experience swelling, bruising, tightness, and soreness. Your facial skin may temporarily feel numb because the surgeon has separated the skin from the underlying facial tissues. Most patients are back to work in one to three weeks, at which point most of the side effects will have subsided. You will likely find that the full results of face lift surgery are visible about three months after the procedure. While the results of a face lift are permanent, your appearance may continue to change over time due to aging, gravity, or weight fluctuations.
